AWA+D Members tour homes designed by Past President, Lucille Raport

On February 25th AWA+D members enjoyed an exclusive tour of two mid-century modern homes designed by our own Past President and AWA+D member, Lucille Raport. The first was the Parr–Schoenfeld Residence completed in 1952, and the second the Koland Residence completed in 1955. Lucille was a pioneer for women in our field. Her career highlights include work at the firms Skidmore, Owings & Merrill at Spaulding & Rex and with Richard Neutra. At the time she designed these two homes she was one of only 30 women in the US to have their own architectural practice. Both homes were gorgeous – sited to take advantage of amazing views and featuring smart, efficient floor plans. Lucille’s designs have stood the test of time and their homeowners have showed their pride of ownership through their care. Our thanks to each of them for hosting us, we all loved it!
